Tracewell Systems Launches Family of Ruggedized E-Tool Solutions
September 30, 2008
Tracewell Systems has launched a full line of ruggedized E-Tool solutions designed specifically for military and other environmentally challenging conditions. Based off Tracewell’s highly successful 14-drawer E-Tool, the company has added 4, 5 and 7 drawer versions that are designed specifically for shipboard, vehicle and ground deployments. The patented lightweight highly durable construction allows for a two-man lift. The dimension of the newly announced family of products is designed to have required clearance for shipboard stairwells and hatches. Additionally, the entire product family can be secured to floor, bulkhead, sidewalls and other hard mount surfaces through an innovative approach.
The E-Tool provides safe storage, charging and communication solutions for laptops, personal digital assistants and other electronics. The rugged E-Tool family offers many unique features that make them superior for military applications including; worldwide power input, power filtering, up to two Ethernet connections and up to three AC power connections per drawer, individually fused drawers, filtered cooling, single point LAN connection, managed Ethernet switch and load monitoring with LED displays. Combining this robust feature set with Tracewell’s lightweight construction design and the ability to securely stack units reduces the overall weight by 50% to comparable products.
“Through the use of technology, it is now possible to produce high performance and highly durable E-Tools at considerable weight reductions,” states Rob Harris of Tracewell Systems. “We not only have constructed a ruggedized family of E-Tool platforms, we have enabled these platforms to be deployed and maintained with relative ease.”
